On February 2nd 2010, the NRC participated in the Abu Dhabi Recruitment Exhibition that was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, it is the first participation for the centre since its establishment in the year 2002. The centre is aiming to provide outstanding services in the field of prevention, treatment and rehabilitation from addiction on alcohol and drugs. His Excellency Dr. Hamad Abdallah Al Ghaferi/NRC Director General stated that the centre’s participation in the recruitment exhibition 2010 aims to shed light on the center’s interest in the emiratization process from one side and strengthen its position in attracting the best qualified graduates, especially nationals who have qualifications in various medical and technical specialties that are related to the work of the centre. His Excellency also emphasized that the centre opens its door for UAE nationals who are willing to work in the field of preventing, treating and rehabilitating from addiction. He also added, the centre in its strategic plan is keen on investing in developing the competencies and experiences for the national workforce to benefit from them in addiction and drugs sciences, besides having an annual plan to provide the center’s requirements with the specialized human resources. Additionally, the centre is aiming to raise the percentage of national employees who are working in the specialized fields of addiction sciences such as: medical psychiatry, clinical psychology, social work and psychiatric nursing, especially in light of future expansions of the center in increasing its bed capacity from 26 beds to 200 beds, as it requires more qualified human resources, especially national workforce from various medical and technical specialties.
