The National Rehabilitation Centre will organize a training program in the field of addiction and drugs sciences on Sunday 24/01/2010 for psychologists and social workers that are working in the centre in collaboration with Kings College, London University, United Kingdom. The program will last for one year and it is the first of its kind in the Middle East.
His Excellency Dr. Hamad Abdalla Al Ghaferi stated that the program aims to build national capabilities and competencies for employees who are working at the centre in the field of treating and rehabilitating drugs and alcohol dependence patients, which is one of the center’s priorities. His Excellency said that the program is consisted of 12 specialized training workshops presented by 11 specialized lecturers and professionals in drugs and addiction sciences from Kings College London University for NRC psychologists and social workers.
The workshop will cover three specialized scientific themes in addiction sciences and the latest scientific methods in the treatment and rehabilitation of addiction disease on alcohol and drugs. The first theme deals with diagnosis, the second deals with therapeutic interventions and the third focuses on measuring quality and performance, each theme will include 4 educational modules and each module will be applied in two days.
