As per the National Rehabilitation Center’s preparation to launch the phase of pre pilot and pilot for the integrated school awareness program in collaboration with United Office of drugs and Crime and with representatives of the European Commission, the centre participated in the second regional workshop to train senior trainers to implement the concept of Unplugged, the workshop took place in Jordan during the period from 4th – 7th October 2009. Further, the unplugged program is one of the leading programs in the field of awareness from using drugs especially tobacco, alcohol and hashish, the program is built on the philosophy of cognitive social impact and it emphasizes on life skills training and normative beliefs. The program also provides school students ages 12-14 years with knowledge, individual skills and necessary communication skills in making healthy decisions. The program which considers an approach to improve and maintain school students health via building educational capabilities along with presence of support from surrounding environment, divides into two sections for students and parents, and it will be applied systematically over 12 weeks and it will be scientifically assessed.
