Within the community events during the Holy Month of Ramadan, the National Rehabilitation Centre organized a collective iftar on 18th Ramadan at the Emirates Palace. 150 people attended the gathering from NRC strategic partners and employees. Chairman of the Board and NRC Director General attended too, besides senior staff from Ministry of Presidential Affairs.
A speech was presented by Mr. Husein Muzahem; Social Worker at the centre .The speech highlighted the center’s societal role and the importance of concerted efforts in treating addiction problems and supporting recovered addicts to be re-integrated in the community.
One of the NRC recovery patient, which the centre is proud of as a successful model in the society talked about his experience in addiction that was last for 25 years and about his treatment journey and the challenges that faced him, he also talked about his success in recovery, where he became now a father and a qualified addiction counselor that has a permanent job, he wishes if the community looks more positively to addiction patients and supports their recovery process. The attendees expressed their admiration for the recovery patient’s strong initiative and for NRC’s role as well.
