NRC Residential Treatment Program

Established on: 18th December 2006

Under the auspicious of: Emirates Foundation

The NRC has established a Residential treatment Program for the patients who has been achieved abstinence from drugs. The program has been in existence for over 40 years in the west. The residential drug treatment program also known as a therapeutic community model. The location of the program is in a residential settings and uses the holistic model of treatment .It consider this stages of treatment as a prelude for accepting the personal and social responsibility

The idea behind residential treatment program is that the individual who suffers from drug addiction is able to live independently in a drug free environment. They can reflect upon their live and the meaning for their existence. They can learn new skills to manage themselves effectively. Patient also learns how to use the time and inject some activities in their live. As time progresses they are able to handle more and more personal responsibility, within the residential treatment facility, and are expected to be part of the community in which they live. This means helping those who are just beginning as well as those around them. Residential drug treatment is different than other treatment methods in many ways. Individuals are able to leave their destructive environment and enter into a clean and sober atmosphere. Additionally, patients are able to associate with others who share the same goal of addiction /recovery during 24 hours a day 7 days a week. This availability of individuals and staff at any hour is invaluable when the patient is going through such a treatment.
