National Rehabilitation Center Laboratory ( NRCL) performs a range of laboratory tests that play a vital role in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Endorsing cutting edge technology in laboratory medicine, NRCL delivers unsurpassed

Our Staff:

The NRCL staff consists of highly qualified medical technologists with diverse experiences in various areas of the laboratory.
















Services:

Committed to patient care, the NRCL executes routine to highly specialized tests requiring complex techniques and automated analyzers.

In- patient and Out-patients Services:

The laboratory operates on a 24 – hour on-call basis to meet all requests either in routine or emergency cases.

1. Biochemistry Tests includes :

  • Na, K, Cl, CO2, Glucose, Urea, Creatinine, Calcium, Total Protein , Albumin, Phosphorus , Total Bilirubin, Direct Bilirubin, Alkaline Phosphatase, SGOT (AST), SGPT (ALT), Gamma GT , LDH , CPK , CK-MB , Cholesterol, Triglyceride, HDL, calculated LDL., UA , Amylase ,Iron, TIBC, Magnesium, Folate ,Vitamin B12, Lithium , H. pylori screening , Alcohol test , etc.
    IMMUNOGLOBULIN Test:
  • Ig A, Ig G, Ig M
    THYROID FUNCTION Test:
  • T3, T4 ultrasensitive Htsh
    THERAPEUTIC DRUG MONITORING (TDM):
  • VALPROIC ACID
  • CARBAMAZEPINE

    URINE DRUG OF ABUSE (DOA) SCREENING tests:
  • AMPHETAMINE

    2. Serology Tests includes :

    It is worthwhile mentioning here, that the NRCL delivers serology results overnight regardless of the number of tests, even if it is for a single patient. Such a stringent measure minimizes the risk of cross infection only adopted across the nation in the NRCL.
  • Venereal Disease Research Lab (VDRL), Rapid Plasma Regain (RPR)

    3. Hematology Tests includes:
  • COMPLETE BLOOD COUNT (CBC)
  • ERYTHROCYTE SEDIMENTATION RATE (ESR)

  • (Glucose -6- Phosphate Dehydrogenase

    4. Blood Grouping test:
  • ABO Blood Group, Rh Typing

    5. Clinical Microscopy test includes
  • ROUTINE URINALYSIS
    • Biochemical Examination
    • Macroscopic Examination
    • Microscopic Examination
  • URINE PREGNANCY TEST ( Rapid kit )
  • FECAL ANALYSIS
    • Identification of ova, amoeba and other parasites
    • Occult Blood

















    Result Reporting:


    As a corner stone of quality control, reporting results are done in timely manner governed by stringent time frames. Turn-around time constitutes the end point for result reporting. The NRCL implements the following guidelines :

  • Patient’s reports are kept confidential.
  • Patient reports and specifics are archived to be easily retrieved.
  • Reports are dispatched to the wards within clinically acceptable time limits.
  • Abnormal results are communicated via the telephone by physician In-charge.

Quality Control:

The overall performance of a laboratory is judged by its reliability and precision. NRC Laboratory maintains a documented Internal Quality control (IQC) for each analyzer being used.

Safety Precaution:

The health and safety manual developed by the NRCL acts as a reference for health safety procedures. Following those guidelines diligently at all times renders working at the NRCL a safe experience.

Statistics:

NRCL performs an average of 5000 tests per month for all patients.

Collaboration and Affiliations:

Collaboration between NRCL and other diagnostic bodies in the UAE is maintained in order to cover all possible diagnostic tests.
NRCL participates in the NRC CME, Arab –Lab conferences & workshops, advanced laboratory training programs, regional & international quality control programs and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes (UNODC) aided training.

Prospective Goals
As an integral component of the Center’s objective t achieve excellence, the NRCL is working towards local and regional recognition and accreditation in the field of Alcohol and Substance Abuse.
