What is it ?
Cigarettes are the dry leaf of the tobacco plant containing the drug Nicotine. It is highly addictive.

Short Term Effects
• Increased blood pressure.
• Increased heart rate.
• It may relieve stress and anxiety.
• First time users often feel sick and dizzy.

Long Term Effects
• Physical dependence develops very quickly along with psychological dependency. Quitting can be extremely difficult.
• Heart disease, blood clots, cancer, strokes, bronchitis, mouth cancer, poor circulation, ulcers and eye problems are the long term effects of nicotine addiction.

The Law
It is legal to purchase and smoke cigarettes. Selling to a minor is an offence under the U.A.E. Law.

Treatment
Specialist Clinics provide Nicotine replacement in form of chewing gum or patches.
